In 2007, our family decided that a quiet pilgrimage to Phat Diem, the town in north Vietnam where Thuy was born, would be an appropriate way to spend our first Christmas without our remarkable wife, mother, companion, friend and unblinking booster. Phat Diem is about 75 miles from Hanoi, so we spent time in Hanoi and Ha Long Bay as part of the trip, as well as Saigon where I showed my family where I lived many years ago. As this was very much a family experience, I am including some of Kim, Michele and John's photos, each identified, in this gallery.
