Cambodia
Photos from Cambodia with my son, John, as well as visits in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
2014's was a unique visit as Keith Eisele is the founder and Executive Director of an NGO devoted to improved educational opportunities for youths (full disclosure - I am on his Board) and, in the past two years, he has focused on villages in and around Siem Reap, Cambodia. On this trip, we visited several sites and I have provided two photos as examples of work he has done there - one of a water well which, although it looks crude by U.S. standards, provides much cleaner water, thus less disease for the children and the villagers, than the polluted streams and ponds they currently have access to - they lobby heavily to have one installed in their villages. The other photo is of a classroom, one of several where Keith has provided backpacks for the students and classroom supplies and teaching aids for the instructors. In this particular school, he has also provided electricity and overhead fans for the classrooms (even fuller disclosure: Keith has done all the fund raising to date and he and his Cambodian assistant, Naroath, have done all the heavy lifting on these projects). Following these two photos are two more from a village as well as several from the Angkor temple complex.
After Cambodia, I flew to Seoul to catch the blooming cherry blossoms (you want to see cherry blossoms? I have plenty more!). These photos are followed by quick glimpses from a few days in Seoul and a day in surrounding mountains concentrating on several temples. Those photos are in the Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea gallery.
